Summer Fun at the RWA! Puppet Making Workshop for Kids
4 Aug 2018
Saturday 4 August 2018
10.30am to 4.30pm at the RWA
During the morning we will design, draw and paint characters, inspired by Ros and Tomasin’s forthcoming theatrical show MathildaMathilda, and from fairs and circuses where much of the show is located. From these we will make 3D puppets from foam and paint and decorate them with fabric, paint, collage, beads, buttons, string, paint and pens. We will finish the workshop with a group song ‘sung’ and danced by all the puppets!
At lunchtime you will have a chance to look round the exhibition Making MathildaMathilda which will be open in the RWA Academicians’ Gallery.
Some materials including foam, glue, pens and paint will be supplied. We will also supply some fabric and beads etc but please contribute fabric, beads, buttons etc. to decorate your puppet with.
Suitable for children aged 7 – 11.
Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be a drinks break during the morning and the afternoon and a one hour lunch break. (Lunch not provided.)
