Reflecting the Interior: Life Drawing into Painting
16 Jul - 17 Jul 18
Tutor - Hannah Murgatroyd
Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 July, 10am - 4pm
Begin by drawing a costumed model in the stunning medieval interior of St John's on the Wall crypt, Bristol. On the second day, participants will be based at the RWA Drawing School studio and will refer to those drawings to create new paintings. Led by your memory, using paint and ink, explore colour relationships, composition, and ways to handle a brush and paint. This will not be a course where you scale up one drawing into a painting and copy the image faithfully, but rather one led by the role of memory. The tutor will provide examples of contemporary and historical painters.
All basic materials provided for this workshop, although we recommend bringing your own brushes on day 2 if you have them. On the second day, please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your booking within 2 weeks of the start of the course or workshop you will not be eligible to receive a refund, nor will you be eligible to transfer to another course/workshop unless we can find someone to take your place on your original booking. If we cancel a course or workshop for whatever reason then you will be offered a different date, course or a full refund.
