Following on from our previous two hour sculpture walk in Bristol, we are providing a new opportunity to learn more about the people featured in the Blue Plaques Scheme, many of which can be seen in the BS8 area. Bristol City Council administered the scheme from the 1960s until 2015, but it is now run by Bristol Civic Society.

Hear the stories behind the plaques which celebrate a variety of artists, inventors and scientists, as well as ordinary people who have achieved great things. The number of plaques we see will be flexible, depending on people’s mobility and interest shown in each plaque. Furthermore, there are plenty of coffee shops and bus routes in case anyone needs to leave early.
