This four day workshop is aimed at students with little or no experience of working in oils. The emphasis will be on describing accurately the fall of light over simple solid forms. Working at first in monochrome and then introducing colour, students will learn about basic colour mixing and how to effectively simplify and translate three dimensions into two, building confidence at every stage. There will be a life model on one of the days. This workshop provides a good basis for further development in oil painting under the guidance of an experienced tutor. Suitable for all abilities.
All basic materials provided for this workshop, although we recommend bringing your own brushes if you have them. Please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio. You may also wish to consider bring a plastic bag in which to take wet work home with you on the last day.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your booking within 2 weeks of the start of the course or workshop you will not be eligible to receive a refund, nor will you be eligible to transfer to another course/workshop unless we can find someone to take your place on your original booking. If we cancel a course or workshop for whatever reason then you will be offered a different date, course or a full refund.
