An invitation to explore the transformative and imaginative practice of altered books. Enjoy playful possibilities, ripping and revealing, manipulating and masking, sticking and stitching of journey pages. Illustrate a sea of inky surfaces, drawing and writing with brush and pen. Explore tactile layered narratives through poetic words, imperfect imagery and curious nonsense. Celebrate your deeply rich and darkly colourful fable with totemic found objects and marks.
You will need to bring book in which to draw into and tiny treasures for adding to its pages! All basic materials provided for this class, although we recommend bringing your own brushes if you have them. Please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio. You may wish to bring a plastic bag in which to take wet work home.
