Saturday 9, 10.30am - 4.30pm, and Sunday 10 November, 11am - 4pm

How do you keep a sketchbook, what do you put in it, what materials do you use, how do you use and develop it? This workshop is suitable for students who have completed the Beginners Drawing course or for anyone with a basic knowledge of drawing who would like to develop their skills under the guidance of an experienced and supportive tutor.

We will look at the myriad of ways in which sketchbooks can be used and students will use a range of different materials and approaches to increase their confidence in drawing and using a sketchbook. The tutor will give individual suggestions and guidance and there will be a collection of artists’ sketchbooks and drawings for information and inspiration.

Students will need to bring a sketchbook with them, A4 or larger. Materials will
be provided but, if there are any materials you particularly like to work with,
you are welcome to bring them along.

Please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio. You may wish to bring in something to take wet work home.

Participants must be 16 or over.

If you have a disability, learning difficulty or mental health issue which you feel may affect your participation in your chosen class, please either email or call 0117 906 7606, prior to booking, so we are aware of any needs you may have.
