This workshop is inspired by previous workshops of Drawing the Light and The Surface of Water and the exhibition Fire: Flashes to Ashes In British Art 1692-2019. You will use both techniques of mark making with pastel and erasure; drawing with ‘light’ from a dark background. Students will aim to capture the shapes and patterns that define fire’s appearance in all its many different states.
All basic materials provided for this class (heavier weight papers available at cost price). Please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio.
