The image of the girl in the bath is done in oils an I wanted to try represent how still depression can be but also show how it can feel like someone desperately trying to stay above water. The flowers are their to represent fragility if life.

The image with the girl with her hand over her face is done in water based oils an the concept was to try create a visual representation of someone trying to hide deteriorating mental health.

The image of the girl with her head in her hand is done in charcoal - this is a very large piece and the concept was based similarly on depression and how it can effect ones sense of self. The flowers are their to represent fragility of mental health and life. And I wanted to use charcoal to show how black and white and lacking in colour a state of depression can be.
