This workshop will begin with a tour of the Gaudier-Brzeska exhibition and an opportunity to draw directly from the exhibits. You will then go back to the studio and collaborate on poses that reflect the interests of the group, looking for ways to explore abstracting from the figure whilst also using its essential form to underpin the structure of the drawing. The aim will be to loosen the imagination and bring life and dynamism onto the page, so come prepared to experiment!
All basic materials provided for this workshop (heavier weight papers available at cost price), although we recommend bringing your own brushes if you have them. Please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio. You may wish to bring a plastic bag in which to take wet work home.
