Acrylic ink is a versatile medium - it has the immediacy of watercolour with a more vibrant pigment. When dry it can be built up in transparent layers creating depth and subtle tones. It can be combined with other mediums like acrylic, oil and wax pastels, collage and watercolour. Experience its different applications through quick sketches and more lengthy processes, testing it on wet and dry paper, applying it with brushes and other tools, layering it and using it in combination with other techniques.
All basic materials provided for this workshop (heavier weight papers available at cost price), although we recommend bringing your own brushes if you have them. Please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio. You may wish to bring a plastic bag in which to take wet work home.
