Saturday 11 May, 10.30am - 4.30pm and Sunday 12 May 11am - 4pm
Applying ink to glass and printing the painting onto paper, Degas was able to use the accidental marks of the rag and brush to create atmospheric landscapes and interiors. Students will spend one day drawing from the model and learning how to translate their images into monochrome print using a press. The second day will be an opportunity to continue monoprinting from their drawings, with the addition of colour. Be prepared to embrace the mysterious and illusive nature of this timeless medium!
