China Clay Village

Fredrick Cook was brought up in London and spent summer holidays in the west country. He is known for his creative visual art and was a painter in oils who later on proffered moorland landscapes, which were featured in many of his art pieces.

This painting uses gentle brush strokes and darkly powerful colour work to convey the sense that this little village is surrounded by an ambush of darkness which, perhaps, could be closely linked to the importance of communities and how they bring hope in the darkest of places.
