Trees have been part of a rich history of art since the earliest drawings. Cypresses, Palms, and Olive Trees punctuate the Renaissance Landscapes of Piero Della Francesca, and appear unchanged in the vibrant 20th Century Paintings of David Hockney. Their fluid, upward motion seems to invite us to draw them, yet they can be surprisingly difficult to capture. In this workshop we will look at how to bring trees to life on the page, using some of the great masters as inspiration.
