I was inspired by the artist Liam spencer for the cityscapes as I like the way he simplified the image and focused on the colour. for me, colour is very important as I think it can make or break a painting. I really liked the way that lights can change the mood of a city at night. For the portrait, I carried the theme of light over, but in a more abstract sense. I really like the supernatural theme to this one. I got this effect by taking a long exposure of my dad and waving a fibre optic brush around one side of his face, which I prepared beforehand.
